3 Finishes with Miss Peacock

My new Bernina 480 SE, christened Miss Peacock, arrived and she did not waste any time getting to work on my project backlog!

To put her through some basic paces, I completed a Mini BOM project using a few of the myriad of deco stitches Miss Peacock has available, including doing a blanket stitch on a machine stitched binding. Metallic thread, MonoPoly (used around the outer edge of the flange) were all dispatched with beautiful auto tension adjustments.

I love the auto cut for the thread and the way you get a locking stitch with each start and end when using that feature.

Quilted with Sew Fine, 60 wt in the center. All except that little Cardinal in the center, who is outlined in MonoPoly.

Then it was time to bring out the waiting quilts for binding. First up was the Cardinal table runner, 70″ long. The walking foot made quick of attaching the binding. This was extra thick as it has a layer of bamboo and a layer of Insulbrite thermal batting. I used the pressure foot adjustment and again, got beautiful results.

Right close up. Notice that each bird faces a different direction so that everyone sitting at the table can have a right-side-up bird to enjoy!

For the finale this week, I added the binding to my Big Quilt, the Carpenter Square Log Cabin and again did a top stitch/deco machine binding, which my hubby likes and why not? This is not going to a quilt show, only the master bedroom.
