Mini Holiday BOM is a project that I dreamed up for the Fun With Free Motion Quilting page that I am admin along with two others. It is meant for all skill levels; beginners can find it a challenge and make it through. Other skill levels will find it a quick project for the holidays.
Based on Log Cabin, my favorite tradition pattern, this is suitable for a wall hanging, table topper or tree skirt and can be cut and sewn and in a day from either layer cake squares or yardage and then quilted and bound in another day.
The project will be covered in three modules and completed well before Christmas, although its a good last minute project, too. There are color and layout options aplenty, so that each project is easily personalized by the quilter.
The finished project is 28″ x 28″ (or close!) and is a great scrap buster. The first module workbook is attached at the end of the post and includes lots of photos and a video link!
Here are a few photos of the completed project, which can be made in two days work.

I hope you enjoy the mini BOM. It can be adapted to suit any holiday or even a special event like a birthday or anniversary with a change of colors, fabrics and applique motifs.

Happy quilting! Lennea
Hi Lennea! What a cute table topper. I am not a huge fan of the log cabin block – a bad experience when I first started quilting. But this is cute enough to encourage me to give it another try, and let those bad experiences be buried in the past. I love how you quilted it as well. I’m going to PIN this idea for the future. ~smile~ Roseanne
