Sewing is my passion

A3141309-9E00-4920-BD14-8E9751685F64When I retired in 2015, people would ask, “What are you going to do all day when you retire?”. My response was always “Sew!”.

“What else are you going to do?”

“You don’t understand. Sew.”

I have loved sewing all my life and started sewing apparel in my teens. I sewed my children’s costumes and clothing, curtains for the house, clothing for friends. When recycled denim apparel was popular in the early 70’s (now called upcycle clothing), I did piece work making jeans, vests and hats. When I wanted to go to college, I made tuition money sewing professional attire for a neighbor. Eventually, I branched into quilting.

Making a living required that sewing was on the back burner for many years, but it was simmering. Retirement allowed me to move sewing to the top of the priority list.

Sewing is my passion. Share a little of my journey.
